CARDIOLOGY- DIRECTOR OF PEDIATRIC HEART TRANSPLANT/FAILURE PROGRAM

The Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Utah School of Medicine is recruiting a pediatric cardiologist to be Director of the Pediatric Heart Transplant/Heart Failure Program. This candidate should have a strong clinical background in all areas of pediatric cardiology with expertise in children with heart failure and those awaiting and undergoing heart transplantation. The candidate will join a 16-member Division of Pediatric Cardiology with one pediatric cardiologist and one pediatrician currently involved with the Heart Transplant Program. This candidate ideally should have additional training in the area of pediatric heart transplantation and heart failure and should be an experienced individual in treating patients with acute and chronic heart failure. The candidate should also have experience in management of patients preoperatively with heart failure awaiting heart transplantation, with particular expertise in the immunologic issues related to pre- and post-transplant care. There will be protected time for clinical research with mentoring available within the Division for clinical research. The Division also has a very active clinical research program and is one of the participating centers in the Pediatric Heart Disease Clinical Research Network funded by the NIH. The successful candidate will receive a faculty appointment at the University of Utah. Responsibilities also include participation in Title V strategic planning, be the Principle Investigator for discretionary grants, and provide vision for emerging public health issues. The University of Maryland School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics is recruiting a Chief of Critical Care and Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (open rank). The Department of Pediatrics is part of a dynamic, state-supported university medical campus with internationally renowned research institutes. There are extensive opportunities for collaborative relationships within and outside of the Department. The Critical Care Division serves over 1000 patients per year with a 10 bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, a 14 bed Intermediate Medical Care, and an active pediatric critical care transport system. The six-physician service includes an accredited Fellowship program (currently 4 Fellows) and critical care nurse practitioners. The service is an integral part of resident and medical student education. The PICU is supported by a full complement of pediatric subspecialists, and Critical Care faculty work collaboratively with all services including pediatric surgery, pediatric cardiovascular surgery, and pediatric transplantation surgery. The Department of Pediatrics invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant or Associate or Full Professor level. Applications should possess a PhD and/or MD in a discipline related to the biology of Epigenetic phenomena and/or pediatrics. Preference will be given to applicants with an interdisciplinary research program involving epigenetics, genetics, bioinformatics, and perinatal disorders including the fetal origins of adult disease and prematurity. Outstanding candidates from related areas are also encouraged to apply. The successful applicant is expected to have a vigorous, well-established and externally funded research program at the associate or full professor level and a clearly outlined research career plan at the assistant professor level. Applicants with an MD will also have the opportunity to participate in clinical activities in a relevant, clinical division within the Department of Pediatrics. Interest in collaborative, multidisciplinary research is especially encouraged.

The Department of Pediatrics of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) and Children's Hospital of Illinois (CHOI) is seeking a Chief of Pediatric Gastroenterology. UICOMP supports a thriving education program with approximately 20 categorical pediatric residents and 32 combined medicine-pediatrics residents. The Department of Pediatrics has 72 faculty members covering most pediatric subspecialties and primary care. CHOI is a 127-bed facility that offers over 50 pediatric programs and services. These programs represent over 60 pediatric specialists in 24 different disciplines. CHOI is the only full service tertiary hospital for children in central Illinois. The new UICOMP Chief of Pediatric Gastroenterology will be responsible for the development of a comprehensive service that supports the pediatric clinical needs in the region. The new Chief will also be provided with resources to build a nationally recognized program. Scholarly and research interests are highly desirable, along with experience in teaching medical students and residents. The candidate must be board-certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology, though previous experience as a Chief is not mandatory. The University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics is recruiting an Academic Neonatologist to join the Division of Neonatology at the Associate or Assistant Professor level (commensurate with credentials). The successful candidate must be Board certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine or complete certification within 3 years of having completed the requirements of board eligibility. We are recruiting a junior or mid level faculty member with established excellence in teaching and patient care, and/or independently funded research. It is expected that the candidate will demonstrate excellence as a clinician-educator and participate in clinical or basic research. Current active areas of research include: cytokine regulation of brain and lung injury, interactions between nutrition and brainstem maturation, pathogenesis of necrotizing enterocolitis, sepsis, and clinical trials research.

Stony Brook University Medical Center’s Department of Pediatrics is recruiting for a Director of Neonatology. The Director position is at the Associate Professor/Professor level on the tenure track.

Preferred: Research track record, participation in national activities related to neonatology, and extramural funding track record.
The Department of Pediatrics at Stony Brook University Medical Center is the only tertiary care pediatric department in Suffolk County, which has a population base of 1.6 million people. Stony Brook is a University community located 60 miles from Manhattan on Long Island’s north shore. The Division of Neonatology is comprised of seven M.D. and two Ph.D. faculty. Stony Brook University Medical Center, the only Level III nursery in Suffolk County, has a capacity of 50 neonates and an average daily census of 30 to 35. The Division has an active fellowship program with two fellows per year. The Division and the Department support laboratory-and patient-based research programs.

The University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics is recruiting an Academic Neonatologist to join the Division of Neonatology at the Associate or Assistant Professor level (commensurate with credentials). The successful candidate must be Board certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. We are recruiting a mid level faculty member with established excellence in teaching, administration, patient care, and/or independently funded research. It is expected that the candidate will demonstrate excellence as a clinician-educator and commitment to clinical or basic research. Current active areas of research include: cytokine regulation of brain and lung injury, interactions between nutrition and brainstem maturation, pathogenesis of necrotizing enterocolitis, sepsis, and clinical trials research.

The Division of Neonatology is seeking candidates for three full-time tenure track and non-tenure clinical track positions at the Associate, Assistant or Associate Professor level. Preference for tenure track positions will be given to investigators whose research compliments Pediatrics, including work in genetics/molecular biology, cardiac development biology, neonatal nutrition, neonatal hematology and transfusion medicine, and fetal origins of adult disease. The Division of Neonatology has 12 faculty, eight of which are supported through NIH funding. The Department of Pediatrics of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) and Children’s Hospital of Illinois (CHOI) is seeking a Chief of Child Neurology. UICOMP supports a thriving education program with approximately 20 categorical pediatric residents and 32 combined medicine-pediatrics residents. The Department of Pediatrics has 72 faculty members covering most pediatric subspecialties and primary care. CHOI is a 127-bed facility that offers over 50 pediatric programs and services. These programs represent over 60 pediatric specialists in 24 different disciplines. CHOI is the only full service tertiary hospital for children in central Illinois. The new UICOMP Chief of Child Neurology will be responsible for the development of a comprehensive service that supports the pediatric clinical needs in the region. The new Chief will also be provided with resources to build a nationally recognized program. Scholarly and research interests are highly desirable, along with experience in teaching medical students and residents. The candidate must be board certified in pediatric neurology though previous experience as a Chief is not mandatory. The University of Maryland School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics is recruiting a Division Head. The division of pediatric pulmonology/allergy has 5 Faculty (including Division Head) and 2 PNPs who provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient evaluations for children throughout the state. A new pediatric pulmonary function lab staffed with a respiratory therapist is fully equipped, a pediatric sleep laboratory accommodates 40 overnight studies/month and 24 day studies/month, cardiorespiratory monitor interpretations are provided for many premature graduates of local NICUs, and bronchoscopies are provided in a procedure suite with pediatric anesthesia support. The Breathmobile is a mobile asthma program serving the underprivileged in and around Baltimore City, headed by the director of allergy. Clinical research activities center around the combined strengths of pulmonology and allergy in asthma. Qualified candidates must be board certified in pediatrics either pulmonology or pediatric allergy and have strong administrative experience, and commitment to research. The successful candidate will receive a faculty appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level.
